Freight Forwarders/NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers) to Absorb Liability for Uncleared or Abandoned Shipments

Is it justified?

This session will cover the aspect of how the carrier is prone to proceed against the Freight Forwarder/NVOCC for their losses. Focus will also be on the Federal Laws in UAE, which refer to Freight Forwarders, as the "husband of the ship", and since 2024, have placed added liability on Freight Forwarders/NVOCC' in relation to compliance with the laws, accountability to the consignee etc;

There will also be a discussion on how Freight Forwarders/NVOCC' can take some measures in UAE to limit their exposure to liability by transferring onus on the Shipper/Consignee for abandonment/uncleared shipments.

This session is organised in association with DSAA
